Did anyone else like this show? I recently got the second volume on DVD from Amazon burn on demand.
Grew up watching it. As a horror fan it was a treat, despite having the bacony stink of Canada all over it. There's one episode about an evil clown which borrows heavily from "It", another has Neve Campbell.
One episode apparently inspired Shyamalan's "The Sixth Sense"

I watched a bit of this show as a kid. The reason it seems so Canadian is because it was original produced by Cinar, a kid's TV programming company based out of Montreal, and aired on YTV. YTV would be like Nickelodeon in Canada. It was picked up by Nickelodeon after the first season. The best thing Cinar probably ever did was an English dub of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz anime from '86. My wife and I watched a few episodes of AYAotD this past Halloween and I saw some of the newer episodes. I didn't like the cast as much as the earlier stuff. It was a good show, though. By "bacony stink" I can only assume you mean "delicious aroma"!

I loved it! I remember watching it pretty much on a weekly basis. I don't remember any of the episodes being particularly scary and if I saw them today, I'd probably laugh my ass at them, but I liked Are You Afraid of the Dark a lot back in the day.

There's one episode about a kid who is obsessed with a Pinball game machine, it seems to be a ripoff of "The Bishop of Battle" segment from the anthology film 'Nightmares' (I'd buy a Scream Factory release of that film)
I love Canada, it is a wonderful place veined with rivers of maple syrup. Some of the most beautiful actresses are Canadian (Rachel McAdams comes to mind). Canada also gave us Dan Aykroyd for God's sake!

Growing up a Canadian kid in the nineties, of course I watched this show on YTV all the time. Was a lot of fun and quite imaginative at times. I miss Ross Hull.
