very close between 2/3/4 but i had to go with 3. even though 4 is the best slasher film in the friday the 13th franchise and you have to give props to part 1 ofc. 1.he gets his mask 2.the best end chase scene in any friday the 13th imo 3.they use the barn really effectively
i might add more later but that's i can think of atm

I have to go with Part 3. I think it's the most stylishly shot and well paced. Final Chapter is a close second. It has the most likable and three dimensional characters, but it has more flat, functional direction.

FINAL CHAPTER HANDS DOWN. I can't believe this is a contest.

I will admit that part 4 is the best made film of the series, but the original will always be my favorite.

I *would* say the original is the best, but for the gratuitous animal cruelty (the scene in a cabin where a live snake is chopped in half with a machete for no particular reason). I also felt that not introducing the killer until the last act was a bit lazy, but that's only a minor issue. Otherwise I really like how it set a new standard for slasher movies with impressive gore effects, creative killings and fun jump scares. I think Part 2 is underrated and is actually a lot of fun. Part 4 ups the gore and horror content really well. But it's Part 3 that I have the most fondness for. I love the mix of tension/gore and cheesy/campiness, which makes it the most entertaining for me. Plus it was the first of the franchise I saw, and frightened the bejeezus out of me when I watched it as a young teenager in the cinema. (Sadly not in 3D though.) As for the Fridays after Part 4..? Nah...

And of course - the mask! Part 3 rocks :-)

I'm currently torn between part 2 and the Final Chapter. I was never as high on part 3 as most fans, I'd rank it near the bottom of the Paramount 8. The 3D gimmick is annoying and I find much of the film forgettable outside of its historic and cultural impact (Jason getting the mask, lol).

Nah... Welcome to the forums, man! I always felt sorry for the snake... Though Part 3 is easily my least favorite of the first four Friday movies, I still dig it. I can't help but nod my head to the funky score, too!
